Calonge 1715 negre
This red wine is dedicated to the honour and memory of those who fought for independence and freedom in 1715 at the time of Mallorca’s invasion by the troops of the Crown of Bourbon.
Calonge 1715 negre is a composite of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot grapes. The ageing process involved fifteen months in stainless steel vats and four months in the bottle. The wine was bottled in January 2017. The alcohol content is 14.5% Vol. Only 4,000 bottles were produced.
Calonge 1715 negre is an authentic Mallorcan red wine with a well balanced nose and a pleasantly intense finish in the mouth, elegant and very agreeable to drink. The colour is intense and earthy. The wine has a well defined character and can be enjoyed on its own, in the good company of friends and with red meat, game, fowl, pasta, pizza or vegetarian dishes.
